Discovery Times Square
Discovery Times Square (DTS) is New York City’s first large-scale exhibition center presenting visitors with educational and immersive exhibit experiences while exploring the world’s defining cultures, art, history, and events. DTS, an official Discovery Channel promotional partner, is now the fifth most visited museum in New York City and has featured a renowned line-up of exhibitions including Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition, King Tut, Harry Potter: The Exhibition, and Terracotta Warriors.
Discovery Times Square is ideally located in the heart of New York City’s Times Square, the #1 tourist destination in the entire U.S. that sees over 40 million people annually. DTS has been open for 4 years and is one of the city’s top visitor attractions with over 3 million visitors to date.
Project Summary
Discover NY (“DNY”) is an exhibition and entertainment experience that takes visitors on a journey through the major cultural milestones in New York City’s storied past, and features a new technology multi-sensory flight simulation ride that soars riders above iconic city landmarks and cultural events. DNY will offer a fun, educational, and exciting overview of New York City for local residents and tourists alike.
Discover NY is a four-part experience:
#1: Subway Media Chamber
180° media gallery presents visitors with an immersive video introduction to New York City.
#2: Exhibit Galleries
A collection of 100 objects and stories showing the chronological evolution of New York City through some of its most famous topics including Fashion, Music, Film, TV, Sports, and Theater.
#3: “Time Flies:” The Ride
A multi-sensory flight simulation journey that physically lifts riders up and encompasses all five senses to simulate the feeling of “gliding” across Manhattan over famous landmarks and iconic events throughout the course of an entire year.
#4: nycNOW
A “real time” multimedia center that aims to inform and orient NYC visitors to current entertainment, cultural, and other unique offerings during their stay. A newly developed app will be available for download to enhance this experience.

Tourist spending is projected to grow by 8.5% annually over the next 4 years with 12-15% of that spend specific to entertainment and recreation.

+ The production and management team behind Discover NY has produced over 15 successful shows and exhibitions, such as The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Annex, King Tut, Harry Potter, Titanic, Terracotta Warriors, Sinatra in London, Judy Garland in Concert and Grinch the Musical since its founding in 2004. Comprised of former Madison Square Garden Entertainment executives, the management team specializes in combining iconic, well-known brands with cutting edge entertainment technology to produce high quality family entertainment. Additionally, across these entertainment properties this management team has extensive experience selling and managing blue chip sponsorships, including Discovery Channel, American Express, and NBC.
